RAINBOW BRIDGE

Harry

"My little Harry Binkles, my darling little boy,
You filled my heart with happiness, so much love and joy.
How very brave you were, right until the end,

With a heart full of love, my special loyal friend.

How empty is the feeling that I now have deep inside,
Sadness and heartbroken sorrow, a pain I cannot hide.

We fought our very hardest for you, this I know you'll see,
For somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge happy you will be.

Just do one special thing for me my precious little friend,
Please never forget me, and the time we used to spend.
Know how much I loved you and how much I always will,

For even though we are part you'll be in my heart still.

So go my friend, and play amongst the fields,
Enjoy your every moment, and what happiness it yields.

For you deserve the world my darling little boy.
An endless life of happiness so much love and joy."

(A Poem to Harry from Tanya Mackrell)

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadow, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

After Death

Farewell, Master, yet not farewell.
Where I go, ye, too, shall dwell.
I am gone, before your face,
A moments time, a little space.
When ye come where I have stepped...

Quote:

I think we are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren't certain we knew better. They fight for honor at the first challenge, make love with no moral restraint, and they do not for all their marvelous instincts appear to know about death. Being such wonderfully uncomplicated beings, they need us to do their worrying.
